The Book

Wounds in Words

Poems recovered from age 19 to 26, and new work written in the late 30s — two lifetimes of feeling, bound in one collection.

What This Book Believes

Pain deserves language, not silence.

Every wound already carries its own words — sometimes we just need someone to write them down first.

You are not broken. You are not alone. You are just human.

These poems were written across two decades — from a 19-year-old's anguish to a 30-something's hard-won clarity.

Why Readers Return

What These Poems Do

You Feel Understood

These aren't polished abstractions — they're real feelings, written down. Readers say the poems articulate exactly what they couldn't find words for.

Less Alone in Your Pain

Knowing someone else has survived the same dark places is its own kind of medicine. This book is proof that you are not the only one.

Two Lifetimes in One Volume

Written from age 19 through the late 30s — the rawness of youth alongside the perspective of survival. Both voices matter. Both are here.

Authentic, Not Performed

Recovered from an old hard drive — these poems were never written for an audience. That honesty is exactly what makes them land.

About Wounds in Words

The Story Behind the Poems

Recovered. Remembered.
Released.

These poems were never meant to be published — they were private. Written between ages 19 and 26, they lived on an old hard drive until I found them again. When I read them, I realised they still had something to say.

The last section of the anthology is new — written in my late 30s, with different eyes and a different kind of pain. Together, they form a whole: the wound and the scar, the question and the quieter answer.

  • Poems spanning nearly two decades of lived experience
  • Written with radical honesty — nothing polished away
  • Available in Gaborone, Botswana
  • 147+ readers who felt seen and less alone
